Print Finisher Apprentice
Location: Newton Abbot, onsite
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 40hours per week
Apprenticeship course: Print Operative post press level 2 (Course completed remotely online)
Duration: 24months
We are looking for a Print Finisher Apprentice to join our team!
The Print Finisher Apprentice will assist with the final stages of the printing process, ensuring the printed materials are finished to the required standard. This includes operating finishing equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring that printed materials are correctly prepared for distribution. As an apprentice, the role will focus on learning the skills and techniques required for the trade, with on-the-job training and guidance from experienced professionals.
Key responsibilities and tasks
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of print finishing machinery, including guillotines, folding machines, stitchers, and binders.

Perform quality control checks on printed materials to ensure they meet the required standards.
•
Follow production schedules and work within tight deadlines to meet client needs.
•
Ensure finished products are properly trimmed, bound, and packaged for delivery.
•
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment, following health and safety procedures at all times.
•
Learn and apply best practices for print finishing processes such as laminating, embossing, and foiling.
•
Support the team in troubleshooting any issues with print finishing equipment or materials.
•
Communicate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure smooth production workflows.
•
Keep accurate records of materials used and production times.
•
Attend training sessions and complete coursework related to the apprenticeship program.
•
Work towards achieving the apprenticeship qualification in Print Finishing.
If you have:
- A genuine interest in print production and finishing processes
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot errors or defects in finished products
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills within the print finishing industry
- Enthusiasm to undertake an apprenticeship program and develop a career in the print industry.

- Willing to learn and expand your knowledge in this field
- Open to collaboration with colleagues
